Sanrakshan 2025 (IIM Lucknow) — Turning Sustainability Ambitions into Action

Sanrakshan 2025, held on 23–24 August 2025 at IIM Lucknow’s Noida Campus, concluded on a high note.
The annual sustainability summit convened policymakers, corporate sustainability leaders, grassroots practitioners, and student innovators to turn India’s net-zero aspirations into actionable strategies. This year’s theme — “Catalysing Growth through Sustainability and Responsibility” — set the stage for dynamic conversations, blending policy frameworks, cutting-edge innovation, and youth-driven solutions.

Panel Discussion — “The Future is Mindful: Curating Lifestyle for a Greener Tomorrow”

A standout session at Sanrakshan 2025 was the lifestyle panel “The Future is Mindful”, which explored how consumer behaviour, product design, and community action can shift India toward greener lifestyles at scale.

  • People4Planet highlighted the need for integrated action to institutionalize green living — through the coordinated efforts of Policy makers, Business and Consumers. Any intervention for behavioural change will need to deploy behavioural economics while making it Rewarding, Fun and Easy to be green for consumers...everyday. It requires innovation in through and execution, government-corporate-community partnerships, and pioneering tools like CarbonShunya.

  • Real-world pilots, such as circular fashion trials and community plogging drives, were shared as replicable models delivering measurable local impact.

  • Discussions emphasized metrics and scalability, underlining the importance of tracking carbon and waste reductions to drive national adoption.

People4Planet's Perspective:

The creator and Chief Architect of CarbonShunya, Mr Devender Nahar, contributed insights from the ground on scaling community-led initiatives and aligning them with measurable sustainability outcomes for businesses. Our team’s participation at Sanrakshan 2025 strengthened collaborations between policymakers, academia, and industry partners.
Through these engagements, we aim to channel sustainability dialogues into on-ground collaborative projects that create meaningful impact.
